In today's video, I'm going to show you
10 summery nail designs that are very easy to do at home with just two nail art tools: a
brush and a dotting tool or
nail art stylus. You can also use gradient sponges and
Curali stamping plates, but that's optional.
STARFISH
We'll paint the base with one color and for the star, we'll choose yellow, orange, or reddish. The starfish usually has five arms and is a bit thicker in the center. We'll decorate it with dots of a lighter color, with the ones in the center being a bit larger and the ones on the arms smaller. Don't forget to apply a clear top coat to all your manicures.
CHERRIES
To draw cherries, I like to choose a light base, in this case white. With green polish and a brush, I'll first draw the leaves and stems of the cherries. Then, with a dotting tool and red polish, I'll paint the cherries. Finally, with a bit of white polish, I'll give them a touch of shine. I apply a layer of top coat, but in the following ones, I'll omit it for the video. Don't forget to apply it yourself :)
NAVY
On a striped base, we'll draw an anchor with a brush to create a beautiful navy design. I like to do it on just one nail.
RAINBOW
To commemorate the victims of the Orlando massacre that occurred three days ago, I've included this simple rainbow design. Starting with a white base, we'll apply rows of dots in the colors of the rainbow. A super simple design that looks really beautiful.
WATERMELON
The watermelon design is very common on the internet, so I wanted to create a different design, sideways and without color on the base, playing with negative space. With a piece of adhesive tape and a fine brush, you can create this fresh design.
PALM TREE
Another one of my favorite summer designs is the
palm tree on a gradient background. To create the gradient, we first protect the cuticle with It Polish nail latex, available at www.nailistas.com. We choose 3 bright colors and paint the sponge, then by gently dabbing on the nail, we create the gradient. To make it smooth, I paint a layer of top coat and then draw the palm tree in black with a brush.
SPIRAL SUN
For this design, we'll need a brush and yellow polish. On a base of a color you like, we'll draw a spiral and to finish, the sun's rays.
ICE CREAM
I love ice cream in summer. To draw one on the nail, we'll paint it light brown and use a brush to create lines to simulate the wafer. Then, with an appealing color, we'll paint the ice cream. I like to add a touch of colors to make it a more fun design.
MERMAID
On an aquamarine green base, we'll create a gradient; don't forget to protect your cuticles with It Polish liquid latex. We'll use green tones and, if possible, glitter polishes. Then I'll use plate number 10 from
Curali Nail Stamping and the stamp available for sale at
www.nailistas.com. We'll do a stamping to simulate the scales of a mermaid's tail.
SODA
In this design, we'll paint half a lemon slice with yellow. With a lighter color (it can be yellow or white), we'll draw the lines of the lemon. To finish, I'll paint some colorful bubbles to liven up the soda nail art.
